The Hendrick I. Lott House is moving into the next phases of a transformative Interior Capital Project, allowing our historic farmhouse to open to the public as a museum in the next few years. We’re looking for new, passionate, and driven individuals to join our board to provide leadership to our museum. Joining the Friends of the Lott House Board is a great opportunity to expand your professional network and give back to the community.

What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking individuals who bring diverse perspectives, professional experience, and a passion for history and community engagement. Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities:
Experience in the Museum Field: Familiarity with the operations and challenges of museums, or a related area such as historical preservation, curating, or education.
Non-Profit Experience: Understanding of non-profit governance, fundraising, and strategic planning.
Leadership Skills: The ability to work collaboratively and guide decision-making in a board setting who will contribute to the success of our capital project and our organizational growth.
Passion for History and Community Engagement: A deep interest in supporting cultural preservation and education.
Diversity of Expertise: Backgrounds in marketing, law, finance, education, event planning, or technology are especially valuable.
Responsibilities and Commitments:
FLH is seeking engaged and qualified candidates to serve a two-year term on our Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will have the dedicated time and resources to:
Participate in monthly board meetings.
Assist with fundraising efforts, including personal giving and connecting the museum to potential supporters and sponsors.
Provide strategic guidance and ensure the museum’s mission and goals are being met.
Help staff and support the execution of public programs and events, including community outreach and educational initiatives.

Please note Board Members must live in the New York City area and be 18 years of age or older.
