Join us at the Hendrick I. Lott House Museum for a children's program about foraging in our backyard with Aly Stoffo, AKA the Glam Gardener, wild food forager and owner of Glam Gardener NYC! Aly will guide the children around the 3/4 acres at the Lott House to learn about 5+ wild edible plants that grow in Brooklyn!
After foraging wild plants and learning about their uses, the children will get into a wildcrafting activity to learn how to make something with our harvested plants. For this wildcrafting activity, we'll be crafting natural salves that can be used as lip balms, healing lotions, and natural bug repellent!
Aly will guide the children through the process of making a natural salve with wild plants, essential oils, local beeswax, and natural oils. All attendees will leave with one personal salve they customize at the workshop and then take it home.
Please note this workshop involves using a camping stove to craft salves, so a chaperone must always accompany their children.
This is a free event and requires registration. As a gentle reminder, this workshop is intended exclusively for children, and adults' participation is limited to chaperoning roles only. Please only register for the amount of children participating in this workshop.

ABOUT ALY FROM GLAM GARDENER NYC:
Aly Stoffo is a wild-foods forager, outdoor and sustainability educator, herbal product maker, and owner of Glam Gardener NYC: a business offering healing herbal products, art, and eco-education.
She’s taught thousands of kids and adults through Glam Gardener NYC about foraging, the outdoors, and wildcrafting.
Aly has been a lover of nature for a lifetime! Growing up and residing in Staten Island, NYC, she brings outdoor education to the city, showing folks that we can rejoice in the outdoors no matter how urban our environment is.
Aly has a background and education in Sustainability Solutions from Arizona State University. She can identify over 200 regional wild-growing edible and medicinal plants. Glam Gardener NYC is an outdoor education partner for the NYC Department of Transportation and a variety of museums and nonprofits across NYC.
